R.M. Petrie, 'Bob', as he was known, founded his company in 1966.  Upon completing trade school, he worked for a few years in the construction industry, then he decided to go into business for himself.  He started his business in Romulus, Michigan.  Twelve years later, he moved his business to Belleville, Michigan. 

In the early 80s, Bob and his family moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.  Once there, they continued the building business as well as Petrie Family Resort located in Curtis, Michigan. 

Following Bob's death in 2008, his children created R.M. Petrie Builders and Sons, honoring their father.  In 2011, R.M. Petrie Builders and Sons, LLC was organized.

Today, as a family, we try to operate the company the way Robert M. Petrie did.  The quality craftmanship and customer care he provided is of upmost importance to this family business.  So whether serving the small community of Curtis, the Eastern Upper Peninsula, or the state of Michigan, we strive to provide that personable nature and attention to detail Bob Petrie Builders did for so many years.
